DESCRIPTION:JFCS Dementia Caregiver Connect is a twice monthly “drop-in” program for caregivers of people living with dementia or experiencing memory loss. \n\nUpcoming sessions of Dementia Caregiver Connect will be held : \nMay 13 & 27\, June 10 & 24\, July 15 & 29\, August 12 & 26\n10 – 11:30 a.m.\nJFCS – 5905 Golden Valley Rd.\nThis is a drop in event\, no RSVP required. \nIf you have picked up a prescription\, brought over dinner\, given a ride to the doctor\, taken care of an errand\, or made decisions big or small on behalf of a family member or friend\, you are a caregiver. \nParticipants in this program will have an opportunity to share experiences and receive guidance and education about topics relevant to caregiving. Sometimes the caregiving journey can feel lonely—the intention of this program is to provide a safe place to receive support and connect with other caregivers. \nStaff from JFCS Senior Services will facilitate the group sessions\, provide support\, and answer resource-related questions. DESCRIPTION:Are you caring for a partner/spouse\, older family member or older loved one and finding that the responsibility can feel heavy and lonely at times? Caregiving is an act of love\, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. Having support can make a meaningful difference. \nCaregiving can sometimes feel isolating\, but it doesn’t have to be. Sharing stories\, listening to others\, and offering mutual encouragement can help caregivers feel more grounded\, resilient\, and supported in their journey. This group is about caring for the caregiver. Whether you are providing care at home\, from afar\, exploring additional support services\, or considering future care options\, you are welcome here. Our Caregiver Support Group offers a welcoming\, compassionate space for caregivers to connect with others who understand the unique challenges and rewards of this role. \nWhat this group offers: \n\nA supportive\, judgment-free environment to share experiences and feelings\nConnection with other caregivers who truly understand what you’re going through\nPractical guidance\, encouragement\, and helpful resources\nA sense of relief that comes from being heard\, understood\, and supported\n\nThe group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 3 – 4 p.m. via Zoom. DESCRIPTION:JFCS will host a six-week class\, “Powerful Tools for Caregivers.” If you have picked up a prescription\, brought over dinner\, given a ride to the doctor\, taken care of an errand or made decisions big or small on behalf of a senior\, you are a caregiver.  The class is designed to provide you with a wealth of self-care tools that will help you take care of yourself while taking care of others. You will learn to reduce stress\, improve your self-confidence\, bring more balance to your life\, better communicate your feelings\, and increase your ability to make tough decisions. The class is open to people from the Jewish and broader community. \nWednesdays\, May 6th to June 10th from 5 – 6:30 p.m. \nThis class will meet in person at the Plymouth Community Center\n14800 34 th Ave N\, Plymouth\, MN 55447 \nFacilitated by Irina Yakusheva and Tabitha Benci DeRango \nThere is a $15 charge to participate. This is a family-friendly event. Every volunteer who attends a Volunteers in Action event receives a free blue JFCS in Action t-shirt if it’s their first time.  \nBring your pup (all sizes welcome!) and join us for a parade of paws\, tails\, and smiles! We’ll split up into groups and “parade” through the campus\, visiting residents in each building and sharing lots of tail-wagging happiness. \nEven if you don’t have a dog\, we hope you will sign up to join us for a nice afternoon of conversation\, community and connection. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nCopy of your pup’s vaccination records\nBaggies for outside and in case of accidents\nA handful of treats for your furry friend\n\nWays to Get Involved in JFCS Puppy Parades: \n\nCan’t make it on May 17\, but want to join the JFCS Puppy Parade Team for one of our quarterly events? DESCRIPTION:JFCS will host a six-week class\, “Powerful Tools for Caregivers.” If you have picked up a prescription\, brought over dinner\, given a ride to the doctor\, taken care of an errand or made decisions big or small on behalf of a senior\, you are a caregiver.  The class is designed to provide you with a wealth of self-care tools that will help you take care of yourself while taking care of others. You will learn to reduce stress\, improve your self-confidence\, bring more balance to your life\, better communicate your feelings\, and increase your ability to make tough decisions. The class is open to people from the Jewish and broader community. \nWednesdays\, May 6th to June 10th from 5 – 6:30 p.m. \nThis class will meet in person at the Plymouth Community Center\n14800 34 th Ave N\, Plymouth\, MN 55447 \nFacilitated by Irina Yakusheva and Tabitha Benci DeRango \nThere is a $15 charge to participate. DESCRIPTION:If you or a loved one is impacted by addiction\, you are invited to join our new eight-week support group at Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota (JFCS). Rooted in Jewish values—reflection without shame\, dignity for every person\, care for the body\, connection in community\, forgiveness\, and hope—this group provides a safe\, supportive\, and compassionate space for healing\, learning\, and connection. All are welcome\, regardless of religious background or identity. JFCS is here for all. Always. \nAbout the Group\nLed by an experienced professional facilitator\, each session will foster open dialogue\, personal reflection\, and supportive discussion. The group embraces harm reduction principles and is designed to empower participants through shared experiences\, education\, and personal growth. Whether you are navigating addiction yourself or supporting someone who is\, you’ll find a welcoming community here. This is an open group and drop-ins are welcome.
