Rooted in Jewish values—reflection without shame\, dignity for every person\, care for the body\, connection in community\, forgiveness\, and hope—this group provides a safe\, supportive\, and compassionate space for healing\, learning\, and connection. All are welcome\, regardless of religious background or identity. JFCS is here for all. Always. \nAbout the Group\nLed by an experienced professional facilitator\, each session will foster open dialogue\, personal reflection\, and supportive discussion. The group embraces harm reduction principles and is designed to empower participants through shared experiences\, education\, and personal growth. Whether you are navigating addiction yourself or supporting someone who is\, you’ll find a welcoming community here. This is an open group and drop-ins are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, March 11\n6:30 – 8 p.m.\nJFCS Golden Valley \nPlease join Women Connect & Next Chapter for an event with Judith Kahn\, Interim Director of NCJW MN for an interactive workshop identifying our core values. \nPersonal values are fundamental to our identity\, shaping how we perceive the world and interact with it. Values provide a sense of stability\, allowing you to remain grounded even amidst difficult times. \nThis is a suggested 2-part event\, however\, attending part 2 is not required! During part 1 on March 11\, participants will have the opportunity to identify the core values that can serve as guideposts in our lives. Participants will be invited to do some reflection in advance. Part 2 is where Judith will be available to assess our results and progress in person! Part 2 date to be determined on or shortly after the evening of March 11. \nJoin with other women in their 40s\, 50s\, and 60s to build community and form connections. Together we will learn\, grow\, and find belonging. SUMMARY:Grief and Loss Group
DESCRIPTION:JFCS’ Counseling Department will host a psychoeducation-based group\, focusing on empowering folks in their grief experience through education\, knowledge\, and connection. \nWHEN: Wednesdays\, Aug. 13 through Sept. 17\, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. \nWHERE: Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis – 5905 Golden Valley Rd.\, Golden Valley \nPROGRAM: This six-week\, in-person group is for those who have experienced the death of a loved one within the past two years. It is a structured closed group\, and each week will have a specific area of learning related to finite loss. Additionally\, there will be time for self-reflection and connections with others. JFCS Therapists Michel Rousseau\, MSW\, LICSW\, and Angela Cowan\, MSW\, LICSW\, will co-facilitate this group. Workbook provided. \nFee: $150\, sliding scale available for those that qualify. \n  \n\nCALL – If you are interested in joining this group\, contact our Intake and Resource Connection Line at\n952-546-0616. Please make this initial call by July 16.\nINTAKE – A staff member will follow up with a brief intake to confirm that this group will be the best form of support to meet you where you’re at in your grieving journey. Please complete brief intake by Thursday\, July 31st.\nPARTICIPATE – Meets in person for six consecutive Wednesdays\, 8/13 – 9/17\, from 4-5:30 p.m. Workbook and additional group-related materials will be provided to participants.\n\n\n\nRegistration is a two-step process. The first step of the registration process will remain open until Wednesday\, July 16th\, unless the group reaches capacity beforehand. The second step of the registration process will remain open until Thursday\, July 31st\, unless the group reaches capacity beforehand.
