SUMMARY:Dementia Caregiver Connect
DESCRIPTION:JFCS Dementia Caregiver Connect is a twice monthly “drop-in” program for caregivers of people living with dementia or experiencing memory loss. \n\nUpcoming sessions of Dementia Caregiver Connect will be held : \nJuly 15 & 29\, August 12 & 26\, Sept. 16 & 30\, Oct. 14 & 28\, Nov. 11\, Dec. 9 & 23\n10 – 11:30 a.m.\nJFCS – 5905 Golden Valley Rd.\nThis is a drop in event\, no RSVP required. \nIf you have picked up a prescription\, brought over dinner\, given a ride to the doctor\, taken care of an errand\, or made decisions big or small on behalf of a family member or friend\, you are a caregiver. \nParticipants in this program will have an opportunity to share experiences and receive guidance and education about topics relevant to caregiving. Sometimes the caregiving journey can feel lonely—the intention of this program is to provide a safe place to receive support and connect with other caregivers. \nStaff from JFCS Senior Services will facilitate the group sessions\, provide support\, and answer resource-related questions. During part 1 on March 11\, participants will have the opportunity to identify the core values that can serve as guideposts in our lives. Participants will be invited to do some reflection in advance. Part 2 is where Judith will be available to assess our results and progress in person! SUMMARY:Connection in Recovery: A facilitated support group rooted in Jewish values of healing\, dignity and hope\, open to all
DESCRIPTION:If you or a loved one is impacted by addiction\, you are invited to join our new six-week support group at Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS). Rooted in Jewish values—reflection without shame\, dignity for every person\, care for the body\, connection in community\, forgiveness\, and hope—this group provides a safe\, supportive\, and compassionate space for healing\, learning\, and connection. All are welcome\, regardless of religious background or identity. JFCS is here for all. Always. \nAbout the Group\nLed by an experienced professional facilitator\, each session will foster open dialogue\, personal reflection\, and supportive discussion. The group embraces harm reduction principles and is designed to empower participants through shared experiences\, education\, and personal growth. Whether you are navigating addiction yourself or supporting someone who is\, you’ll find a welcoming community here. \nWhen: Wednesdays\, 6:30–8 p.m.\n· First session: November 5\n· No session: November 26 – Thanksgiving week\n· Final session: December 17 \nWhere: JFCS – 5905 Golden Valley Road\, Golden Valley\, MN \nWho: Adults impacted by addiction of any kind—personally or through a loved one or family member \nCost: Free of charge. Pre-registration is required.  \nDonations are welcome and will help support JFCS Addiction and Recovery Services. \n\nAbout the Facilitator\nDan Kelly is a dedicated recovery advocate with a strong background in harm reduction and peer support. Drawing on both his professional experience and lived experience in long-term recovery\, Dan creates a safe and welcoming space where participants feel heard and empowered.
