Love spending time with older adults and furry friends? Everyone is welcome! \nGrab a friend and join JFCS for our next Volunteers in Action event as we partner with Sholom Senior Living to bring joy and companionship to older adults at Shaller Family Sholom East Campus in St. Paul. \nWhether you bring a friendly dog or simply enjoy spending time with others\, you’re invited to join us for a fun and meaningful opportunity to connect with residents and brighten their day! \nThis special intergenerational gathering during Chanukah will bring volunteers and Sholom residents together for conversation\, companionship\, and community. You don’t need to have a dog to participate – just bring your friendly self! \nVolunteers attending their first Volunteers in Action event will receive a free blue JFCS in Action T-shirt. \nWhat to Bring (if bringing a dog): \n\nA copy of your dog’s vaccination records\nBaggies for outdoor cleanup and any accidents\nA handful of treats for your furry friend\n\nInterested in Future Events? \nCan’t make it on Dec. 10 but want to join the JFCS Paws & Pals team for a future event? Fill out our interest form here\, and we’ll keep you posted as more dates become available. \nWhy Participate? \nBrighten someone’s day\, make new friends (furry and human)\, and enjoy a meaningful intergenerational experience. Volunteer on your own or with a friend or family member and discover the joy of connecting with older adults through the companionship of animals. \nNo previous pet therapy experience or certification is needed! \n\nAbout Volunteers in Action: \nVolunteers in Action is a JFCS volunteer corps that supports organizations in the Jewish and broader communities. The program partners with organizations whose missions align with JFCS’ mission to provide essential services to people of all ages and backgrounds to sustain healthy relationships\, ease suffering and offer support in times of need.
