Have a friendly dog? Love spending time with older adults and furry friends? Everyone is welcome!
Grab a friend and join JFCS for our next Volunteers in Action event as we partner with Sholom Senior Living to bring joy and companionship to older adults at Shaller Family Sholom East Campus in St. Paul.
Whether you bring a friendly dog or simply enjoy spending time with others, you’re invited to join us for a fun and meaningful opportunity to connect with residents and brighten their day!
This special intergenerational gathering during Chanukah will bring volunteers and Sholom residents together for conversation, companionship, and community. You don’t need to have a dog to participate – just bring your friendly self!
Volunteers attending their first Volunteers in Action event will receive a free blue JFCS in Action T-shirt.

Why Participate?
Brighten someone’s day, make new friends (furry and human), and enjoy a meaningful intergenerational experience. Volunteer on your own or with a friend or family member and discover the joy of connecting with older adults through the companionship of animals.
No previous pet therapy experience or certification is needed!
About Volunteers in Action:
Volunteers in Action is a JFCS volunteer corps that supports organizations in the Jewish and broader communities. The program partners with organizations whose missions align with JFCS’ mission to provide essential services to people of all ages and backgrounds to sustain healthy relationships, ease suffering and offer support in times of need. VIA has partnered with: Dress For Success, Loaves and Fishes, Memorial Blood Centers, Jones-Harrison Senior Living, Open Arms Minnesota, PRISM, and Sholom Senior Living.
