J-Pride event at Queermunity
3036 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408
May 28 | 6 p.m.
Join us for a hands-on, all-ages workshop exploring the art, history, and meaning of tzitzit. Together, we’ll journey through the rich tradition of spinning fibers, from its deep roots in Jewish life to its broader historical significance. We’ll learn how the mitzvah of tzitzit has been practiced and adapted across time.
Participants will get practical experience spinning, plying, and tying tzitzit, gaining both the skills and the context to engage with this mitzvah in a meaningful way.
Have a tallit that needs tzitzit? Bring it along! We’ll be happy to help you tie kosher tzitzit onto your garment.
No prior experience necessary. Open to people of all backgrounds, identities, and skill levels. Come learn, create, and connect in community.
Event is funded through the YALA Mini grant of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
