At Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota (JFCS), our work is guided by our mission and values. Our mission is simple, yet deeply meaningful: to provide essential services to people of all ages and backgrounds, strengthen healthy relationships, ease suffering, and offer support when it is needed most. Our values of compassion, inclusion, innovation, integrity, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.

What does this mean for you and our community?

It means providing essential services, from mental health counseling to emergency food assistance. It means supporting vulnerable community members, including older adults and Jewish adults with disabilities, to help ensure their basic needs are met and they can live with dignity and stability. It means amplifying the voices of those in need and raising awareness of critical issues such as food insecurity, mental health, workforce development, and support for older adults. And it means working to address the root causes of poverty and inequality while creating spaces where people feel a sense of belonging, connection, and inclusion from grandparents and young families to LGBTQ community members and beyond.

It would be easy to measure our work in numbers: events attended, Kosher Meals on Wheels deliveries made, counseling sessions provided, rides given, PJ Library books delivered, and emergency food boxes distributed. Each number tells part of our story, but the true measure of our impact goes beyond numbers. It is found in the lives we touch, the connections we build, and the difference we make when people need support most.
