JFCS offering caregiving, grief online support groups
JFCS’ recent uniting with Jewish Family Service of St. Paul (JFS) has allowed us to offer many of its ongoing programming to the entire community. This includes JFS’ long-running caregiver and grief online support groups.
Caregiver Support Group — you don’t have to do this alone
Are you caring for a partner/spouse, older family member, or older loved one and finding that the responsibility can feel heavy and lonely at times? Caregiving is an act of love, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. Having support can make a meaningful difference.
Caregiving can sometimes feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. Sharing stories, listening to others, and offering mutual encouragement can help caregivers feel more grounded, resilient, and supported in their journey. This group is about caring for the caregiver. Whether you are providing care at home, from afar, exploring additional support services, or considering future care options, you are welcome here. Our Caregiver Support Group offers a welcoming, compassionate space for caregivers to connect with others who understand the unique challenges and rewards of this role.
What this group offers:
- A supportive, judgment-free environment to share experiences and feelings
- Connection with other caregivers who truly understand what you’re going through
- Practical guidance, encouragement, and helpful resources
- A sense of relief that comes from being heard, understood, and supported
The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 3-4 p.m. via Zoom. The group is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Tara at 763-300-3146 or tburns@jfcsmn.org.
Grief Support Group
This Zoom-based grief group is a welcoming, compassionate space for people navigating the loss of a loved one—most commonly a spouse or partner, family member, or close friend. Together, we create room to honor our experiences, share what feels right, and connect with others who truly understand the complexities of grief.
There is no timeline, no pressure to speak, and no expectation to “be ok.” You are welcome to participate in whatever way feels most supportive, whether that means sharing your story, listening quietly, or simply being present. Meeting virtually allows you to join from the comfort and privacy of your own space. This group is about companionship, understanding, and gentle support as you move through loss in your own way.
The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. via Zoom. The group is free and open to the public. For questions, contact Bonnie at 651-497-8248 or bjaffe@jfcsmn.org.
