From the Desk of CEO Amy Weiss: January 2026
This has been both an exciting and challenging time for JFCS. Effective Jan. 1, we are now Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota. Together, we can expand our reach, strengthen Jewish human services across Minnesota, and better respond to emerging needs in the community.
At the same moment, our community has been challenged by forces outside of our control. We recognize that many members of the communities we serve are experiencing fear, stress, and uncertainty. JFCS offers support in times of need including counseling, parent coaching, and handling difficult conversations with children. Please read here and here about opportunities to participate in a thoughtful, facilitated discussion for parents and caregivers. JFCS was founded by immigrants for immigrants and JFCS Minnesota builds on the shared legacy of JFCS Minneapolis and JFS of St. Paul. We remain committed to supporting the community based on the concept of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world and guided by our core values of compassion, inclusion, innovation, integrity, and collaboration.
Compassion calls us to lead with empathy to offer support in times of need. Integrity means we are unwavering in our ethical responsibilities to ensure that everyone is entitled to respect and equal rights. Collaboration means we are standing together across locations, teams, roles, and communities to protect and uplift each other. Innovation drives us to find creative and effective ways to respond to the evolving challenges. Inclusion means everyone belongs here because we are Here for All. Always.
Our services support individuals and families at every age and stage of life. If you or someone you know is in need of support, just call JFCS to learn more about our services, volunteer opportunities, and ways to connect.
