From the Desk of CEO Amy Weiss: July 2026

What we need from our community changes as we move through different stages of life. So where do you find your people? How do you learn new skills, build relationships, or discover support when you need it most?

If you’ve been asking yourself these questions, I invite you to explore the newly refreshed JFCS of Minnesota website and discover the many programs and events designed to help you connect. Whether you’re a new parent looking to meet others in a similar stage of life; a grandparent wanting to learn infant and child CPR; someone seeking support for addiction; or a caregiver for a loved one living with dementia, JFCS is here to help you find connection.

Building connection has been at the heart of our work since 1910. Sometimes the connections happen in community – like our recent Twin Cities Pride activities that included welcoming more than 1,000 people to our booth at Loring Park. More often, it happens in the quieter moments that can change lives. The one-on-one conversations that happen when our PJ Library Parent Connector visits a family with a new baby to drop off a challah or the conversations that happen at a Dementia Caregiver Connect program when participants share their experiences, joys, and concerns.

As our community evolves, so do the ways we bring people together. Our Women Connect/Next Chapter program for women in their 40s through 60s recently hosted a Forest Bathing Walk, creating space to connect with one another and with nature – and more engaging programming will be coming. Our new parent education series included sessions on navigating interfaith family dynamics and exploring the exciting toddler years alongside local Jewish educators and child development experts.

Every connection creates an opportunity for support, belonging, and growth. Together, we’re building a stronger community – one person, one family, and one connection at a time. JFCS remains Here for all. Always!
