JFCS holds 116th Annual Meeting – its first as Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota

JFCS Board President Howard Hoffman

JFCS hosted its 116th Annual Meeting – its first as Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minnesota – on June 10 at Beth El Synagogue. We held elections for the JFCS Board of Directors, welcoming those being elected for a first three-year term, including Michael Arenson, Todd Barin, Ron Barry, Jason Kaufman, Rabbi Tamar Magill-Grimm, Skylar Werde, and Masha Yevzelman. We also recognized Allie Divine and Katie Milavetz as they begin a second three-year term on the Board, and thanked Emily Grinberg for her dedicated service as she completes her three-year term.

In addition, we honored Shari Barry, Julie Ezrilov, Teri Greenstein, Betsy Kuller, Rabbi Aaron Weininger, and Ben Zack as they transitioned to the role of Honorary Advisor. We also welcomed Ari Pressman as Presidential Appointee and recognized her leadership as the new NextGen Board President.

The 116th Annual Meeting was an opportunity to recognize staff milestone anniversaries and the contributions of dedicated volunteers as well. Volunteer Etta Lambright was honored as the recipient of the Anita and Jim Dinerstein Community Service Award. We also recognized volunteers Andrea Binder, Gail Machov, Debbie Ross-Staska, Ann Rubin, and Melissa Siegel – amongst other programs, all of them have volunteered for Senior Services’ Memory Cafe program. Memory Café is a gathering for people with memory loss and their caregivers. Café members meet twice per month at the JFCS office in Golden Valley for activities and conversations in a comfortable, supportive environment.
