Virtual Caregiver Support Group provides welcoming and compassionate space

By Tara Burns, LPCC • JFCS Therapist

Are you caring for a spouse, partner, aging family member, or loved one living with memory loss, Parkinson’s disease, or another chronic condition? While caregiving is often a profound expression of love and commitment, it can also bring emotional, physical, and mental challenges. At times, the responsibilities can feel overwhelming or isolating, but you don’t have to navigate them alone.

Our online Caregiver Support Group provides a welcoming and compassionate space where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and find support from others who understand the unique joys and challenges of the caregiving journey. Whether you are providing daily hands-on care, supporting a loved one from a distance, exploring community resources, or considering future care options, you are welcome here.

Together, caregivers can exchange stories, offer encouragement, learn from one another, and gain strength through connection. This group is dedicated to supporting the caregiver because your well-being matters too.

In our supportive and judgment-free environment, caregivers find meaningful connections with others who truly understand the realities of caring for a loved one. Participants share practical resources, helpful guidance, and words of encouragement, while gaining the comfort and relief that comes from being heard, understood, and supported by others on a similar path.

If you know someone who is caring for a loved one with memory loss, Parkinson’s disease, or another debilitating chronic illness, please consider sharing this information with them. Caregivers often benefit from knowing they are not alone, and this group can be a valuable source of connection, support, and understanding.

Join us and discover the strength that comes from community while caring for those who matter most.

The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 3-4 p.m. via Zoom and is free. For questions, contact Tara at 763-300-3146 or tburns@jfcsmn.org.
